Privacy policy for PianoIntro

Last updated 30 October 2026

In short

PianoIntro collects no personal data. It works without the internet, it has no ads and no accounts, and nothing you do in the app leaves your device.

Who we are

PianoIntro is made by Refleksion · Planlægning · Handling, a sole proprietorship in Copenhagen, Denmark, CVR 45818659. You can reach us at hello@r-p-h.app.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app has no permission to use the internet, so it cannot send anything anywhere. There are no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools in the app.

The microphone

If you turn on the microphone, the app listens while you play, to hear which key you pressed. The sound is analysed on the device as it comes in. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

You can play without the microphone and tap the keys on the screen instead, and you can turn the microphone off at any time in the device's settings.

Read aloud

The read-aloud button says the app's instructions out loud, for anyone who would rather hear them than read them. It uses the text-to-speech engine on your phone, a separate app (on most phones Google's). PianoIntro only uses a voice that is installed on the phone and works without the internet, so the speech is made on the device, and without such a voice the button is not shown. What is read aloud is the app's own text, never anything about you.

Reminders

From version 1.1, PianoIntro can remind you to practise. Reminders are off until you switch them on, in the app's Settings or when the app asks you once. They are made on your phone: Android's own alarm wakes the app at the time you chose, and the app shows a quiet notification if you have not practised that day. Nothing is sent anywhere. The app only needs Android's permission to show notifications, which you can take back at any time in the phone's settings.

Your results

Results, records, finished lessons and settings are stored on your device only. "Start over" in the app's Settings clears results, records and finished lessons. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

Children

PianoIntro is made for children as well as grown-ups. The app collects no personal data from anyone, so it collects none from children either. There are no ads, nothing to buy and no way to message other people.

Google Play

You get PianoIntro from Google Play, which Google runs under its own privacy policy. If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics with Google on your device, Google may tell us that the app crashed, with the device model, the Android version and technical details of the crash. It reaches us as statistics without anything that identifies you, and we use it only to fix errors.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to see, correct and delete the data we hold about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to look up, but you are always welcome to write to us. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.

Changes

If the app ever starts to collect anything, we will update this page before that version is released, and the app will tell you.
