Getting started
Open the app and follow the first step on the home screen: a lesson about the keys and their names. The home screen always suggests the next step, but every exercise is open, so you can pick whatever you like.
Playing on a real piano
- Tap the microphone button in an exercise or in Flow. The first time, the app explains why and asks for permission.
- Put the phone or tablet on the piano, close to the keys.
- Play one key at a time, and keep it quiet around you.
- If the app hears nothing, play a little louder or move the device closer. "Test the microphone" in Settings shows what it hears.
- If you said no to the microphone, turn it on in the device's settings, usually under Apps, PianoIntro, Permissions. You can always tap the keys on the screen instead.
No sound
Turn up the device's media volume. In Settings you can choose which sound the piano has.
Language
PianoIntro speaks English and Danish and follows your device's language. On Android 13 and later you can choose the app's language in the device's settings, usually under Apps, PianoIntro, Language.
Starting over
"Start over" in Settings clears results, records and finished lessons on this device. Your settings stay.
Phone or tablet
On a phone the app turns sideways, so the keyboard gets room. On a tablet it works both ways up. It needs Android 8.0 or later.
